It's not every day that you get invited to Gary Barlow's old house... but that's where we were on Thursday 24th September 2015. We were so proud and happy to be invited to show our Taylor Blake shoes at a Charity Ladies Luncheon to raise money for The Christie Hospital. The Christie is a local Manchester hospital, mainly concerned with the treatment of cancer and associated diseases and is one of the largest Cancer treatment centres in Europe. A very, very deserving Charity.
Unfortunately Gary doesn't live at Delamere Manor anymore but it is an amazing venue for what proved to be a very glamorous day. 80 gorgeous ladies from Cheshire, Paul Scullthorpe, the Rugby league and Great Britain player and two (almost) Naked Chocolatiers. Certainly not our average Thursday at Taylor Blake HQ!
We felt like we were in a set from the Real Housewives of Cheshire. The ladies were wonderful and certainly enjoyed their beautiful lunch and cocktails. Paul Scullthorpe's after dinner talk was very enlightening. He spoke about his highly successful Rugby career but also had many a funny tale to tell about some of the mad challenges he has completed in order to raise money for The Christie.
Towards the end of a brilliant day, the Charity Raffle was to be drawn. We had donated a pair of Taylor Blakes for the raffle and we waited with great excitement to be able to give one lucky lady their favourite pair of shoes to take home... Imagine our surprise when the only man in the audience won the shoes! So funny! He saw the funny side too and very kindly chose a pair for his mum as a pressie - top man!
Thank you to everyone who was there on Thursday and to Delamere Manor and Big Chief Tipis for inviting us to be part of this very exciting event.
